Indications | It is used for sensitive bacteria to cause: 1. Genitourinary system infections, including simple and complicated urinary tract infections, bacterial prostatitis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae urethritis or cervicitis (including those caused by enzyme-producing strains); 2. Respiratory tract infections, including acute attacks of bronchial infections and lung infections caused by sensitive gram-negative bacilli; 3. Gastrointestinal infection, caused by Shigella, Salmonella, enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli, Aeromonas hydrophila, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, etc.; 4. Typhoid fever; 5. Bone and joint infections; 6. Skin and soft tissue infection; 7. Systemic infections such as sepsis. |
Dosage | The usual amount for adults is 0.2g a day, intravenous infusion once every 12 hours, and the infusion time is not less than 30 minutes. For severe infections or Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, the dose can be increased to 0.8 g a day in 2 divided intravenous infusions. Course: 1. Urinary tract infection: acute simple lower urinary tract infection for 5~7 days; Complicated urinary tract infection for 7~14 days. 2 Pneumonia and skin and soft tissue infection: 7~14 days. 3. Intestinal infection: 5~7 days. 4 Bone and joint infections: 4~6 weeks or longer. 5 Typhoid fever: 10~14 days. |
Adverse effects | 1. Gastrointestinal reactions are more common, which can be manifested as abdominal discomfort or pain, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting. 2. Central nervous system reactions may include dizziness, headache, drowsiness or insomnia. 3. Allergic reactions: rash, itchy skin, occasional exudative erythema multiforme and angioedema. A small number of patients have photosensitivity. 4. Occasional occurrence: (1) Seizures, mental abnormalities, irritability, confusion, hallucinations, tremors. (2). Hematuria, fever, rash and other manifestations of interstitial nephritis. (3). Phlebitis. (4). Crystalluria, mostly seen in high-dose application. (5). Joint pain. 5. A small number of patients may have elevated serum aminotransferase, increased blood urea nitrogen and decreased leukocytes in the surrounding blood, which are mostly mild and transient. |
