Indications:It is used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, symptomatic Parkinson's disease (post-encephalitis, arteriosclerotic or toxic), but does not include drug-induced Parkinson's disease.
Dosage:The most suitable daily dosage of Medopar must be determined according to the situation of different patients. The following scale can be used as a basic reference: 1. Initial treatment The first recommended dosage is 1/2 tablet of Medopa each time, 3 times a day. After that, the daily dosage of each week will be increased by 1/2 tablet. until the appropriate amount of treatment is reached for the patient. If the patient visits the patient regularly, the dosage can be increased more quickly, for example, the daily dose can be increased twice a week, and the medopar can be increased by 1/2 tablet per week, so that the effective dose can be reached more quickly, and the effective dose is usually between 2-4 tablets per day, divided into 3-4 times a day. It is rare to take more than 5 tablets of Medopar per day. If it is necessary to give more than 4 medopar tablets per day, then the dose should be increased at intervals of months. For a small number of patients, the first recommended dosage listed in the table is excessive and should be gradually increased from 1/4 tablet to 1/2 tablet all the way up to the same total daily dose. 2. Maintenance therapy The daily dosage of medopar should be divided into at least 3 doses, and the average maintenance dose is 3 times a day, one tablet of medopar each time. However, because improvement in symptoms may fluctuate, daily dose allocation (in terms of the dose taken by each patient and the timing of the dose) depends on the individual patient. If patients begin to experience significant fluctuations in efficacy (e.g., the "on-off" phenomenon), this condition can often be significantly improved by taking 1/4 tablet of Medopa. In principle, the daily dosage does not change, and 1/4 tablet of medopar can be used to partially or completely replace the original medopar dosage if necessary, but the interval should be shortened: 1/2 tablet of medopar that was originally taken can be replaced by 1/4 tablet of each of the two doses. The original medopar 1 tablet can be replaced by taking 1/4 tablet in 4 divided doses. 3. If a patient who used to take levodopa needs to switch to medopa 1 tablet, the method of change is as follows, the number of medopa-to-day tablets is equivalent to half of the patient's current daily levodopa 500 mg/tablet or capsule total number minus 1/2 tablet. For example, if a patient takes 2 grams of levodopa daily (4 tablets or capsules of 500 mg levodopa per day), the doctor's prescription for medopa should be 2-1/2 = 1 1/2 tablets per day. For all patients, the minimum initial dose is 1/2 tablet twice daily. Patients should be closely observed for one week and, if necessary, the dose of medopar should be increased until satisfactory results are achieved (the dosing schedule is the same as for patients who have not been previously treated with levodopa). If a deterioration in the patient's clinical condition is observed, the dosage can be increased earlier.4. General precautions In a small number of cases, serious adverse reactions occur at the beginning of treatment, and the dose should not be further increased or even reduced. However, it is rarely necessary to interrupt treatment. When the adverse reactions disappear or can be tolerated, the daily dose can be increased again, but it should be more slowly, such as only increasing 1/2 tablet of Medopa every 2~3 weeks. When a patient takes more than the usual effective dose (eg, more than 3 tablets of medopar per day), the interval between dose increases is longer because it takes time for the drug to be fully effective in treatment. As with all alternatives, treatment with medopar is long-term. If symptoms improve after 4 weeks of treatment, medopar should be continued to be taken for good results. Sometimes it takes medopar for more than 6 months to achieve the best results.
